A UK Nintendo mag has revealed Spore for the Wii will feature link up play between the Wii and DS. It is also reported that the sensor bar is now 50% smaller and the virtual console's DRM will halt gamers from playing downloaded content on friends machines.

Taken from NGamer magazine¡*

Spore: ¡°Release: Spring 2007¡å
Plus: ¡°EA have confirmed that link-up play with the DS is on the cards, so you can deform your species on the fly.¡±
¡°Everything you need to know for the impending launch of the mighty Wii¡±.
Under the section on ¡®DS Connectivity¡¯, they say ¡°EA¡¯s spore is one upcoming title that will allow you to transfer data from little console to big in a flash.¡±
¡ª¨C
Sensor bar is ¡°50% smaller¡±, ¡°little bigger than a couple of pencils glued together.¡±
¡ª¨C
Wii-mote¡¯s 6kb of internal memory ¡°personalises your remote - potentially storing things like sensitivity, y-axis settings for FPSs, and even scores and saves.¡±
¡ª¨C
Wii-mote runs on two AA batteries, offering around 60 hours of gameplay. That amount¡¯s reduced to half (around 30 hours) if using the sensor bar though.
¡ª¨C
[Talking about SD cards] ¡°these tiny cards can be used to store game saves and virtual console games, but Digital Right Management features mean you can¡¯t play your games on someone else¡¯s Wii.¡±

Well with Live you can't play your downloaded games on a friends console either.
I use to have 2 360 hard drives and I thought I would use them both...hah good luck. MS always transfers the data of your profile and disables the profile on your other HD....a real pain. I'm sure someone will break the DRM (just like with the latest wmv drm breaker).

gee like it's impossible to play Super Mario World for SNES on a friend's PC anyhow

takes 2 seconds emulator + roms.

What I'm more interested in is the 50% sensor bar, before it was about 20cm (or for your imperial unit heathens, about 8 inches) so half of that is 10cm or (dun dun dun) 4 inches. Which is pretty small, and barely noticeable. So that's cool, didn't want it to be some unfolding thing that ends up being 20" or so. I just hope the smaller it is it can still handle the rapid movements just as good with out skipping a beat.

Wonder why the sensor bar halfs the battery life, seems pretty steep (although 20-30hours was what I was expecting as a maximum battery life)

Most likely because when a game uses the sensor bar, it activates the extra sensors in the wii-mote. If the game isn't using the sensor bar, the controller turns those extra sensors off to conserve battery life.
