Specific drive required to burn Wii Backups?

Like the title says.
I've read a few threads where people are talking about using a specific LG burner to make their Wii backups. Sorry if this question has been answered before but i was unable to get a clear answer by searching. So in order to make a working backup is the LG burner the only one that will work, or does more testing still need to be done in order to verify? Thanks for any info.

well to copy a game you need a specific lg drive (for now) but to burn the unscrambled iso's you can use any dvd writer :)
