View Full Version : Video: CycloWiz Wii Mod Installation!
And here it is! A video which shows all that is required to install the highly anticipated CycloWiz mod for the Wii. It should be a 'walk in the park' for most, but as always be patient to reduce any risks of a bad install!

One wrong move with a soldering iron can cause a whole plethora of defects, so no worries there. If you're not skilled with the iron you shouldn't be doing this IMO.

true dat, i'm gettin my friend to do this fo' sho. but enlightx does have a good point tho on the ribbon.
But the big question is if you will ever have to remove your modchip, or if these chips will last the lifetime of the system. I would think that any actions to stop modding would be in future versions of hardware needing new chips, and that no software will ever stop your modding. I think though in the end it is best to solder wires than to quick solder, despite the convience loss. I was surprised to hear this chip is virtually the same price if not alittle less.

Just solder wires between the points on the CycloWiz and the corresponding points on the WiiDrive where you otherwise solder these points directly.
If you can't figure that out, don't solder your Wii.

The CycloWiz has both wireless and wire installation.
l'm not saying CycloWiz is the best one, but the reputation of Team Ninja should tell enough about their chip/code.

yeah i thought so too... but these points look very very small, if we're talking about the same little golden contact next to the quicksolder holes

Now that I see the board installed with quick solder method, I am not going to even bother with wires. I will use the quick solder method.
After I see this, the solder can be removed if ever needed pretty easy with the most basic desoldering iron. (bulb)
And if there is ever a replacement for anything on the Wii (drive bios, or something else) it can just be disabled with no need to remove it.

can any1 just make a game loader ?! cause openning the wii may cause damages to it
Sure email me, and I will send you a game loader that plays all region games (Wii and GC), allows locked content of new wii sports games (pissin up a toilet wall, the pogo stick, mud wrestling etc), and it also gives you free blow jobs when your mum has nipped out to see your auntie.
Can't say fairer than that, and no need to open your console!

How much will this cost? Sounds very interesting, but in bj mode will it morph into whatever pops into your head, say for instance the crazy frog :o

There are solder pads on the chip to do a wire install.
