According to internet reports, Mario Galaxy has been leaked onto the web. The source of the leak is reportedly an EB Games demo of the game with a 10 minute standard restriction, although the restriction is not there when you play the game on a modded Wii.

This time limit restriction is set on the console, not the game disc. The game disc is an original, just as when you take it out of the box. The stores each get one copy and that's it. Metroid Prime 3 was the same way. It's 3 weeks early. You shouldn't be that surprised that Nintendo will have their successor to Mario64 in production 3 weeks before release. Game stores get the first copies before the game cases are manufactured.

It was removed from the site due to a problem although it was confirmed working the guy then said it didn't work as it had detected the mod chip and came up with an error??
There hasn't been any confirmation that it is even real as no one got past 15% downloaded to check it out for themselves ;)

well, i just came back from the nintendo release party at the mall for EB/Gamestop employees, i also have a copy of galaxy. Btw nintendo gives out some really cool stuff at the party! It definitely works, tried the download version and it does work on my moded wii but there is that 10min demo restriction on my roommates unmodded wii.

you went to a nintendo party, where you were given a copy. yet you downloaded it?

the other contradiction would be that the disc itself doesnt have a 10 min restriction, its the wii kiosk that does.

not to mention the fact that i dont understand why nintendo would give you a copy of it when so far its only been confirmed that they have been put in the wii kiosks....

On topic I believe that there are Mario Galaxy demo discs out however I don't think that they are able to detect mod-chips, It's probably just the retail Wii's not being able to run it properly. None of the "evidence" we have so far is reliable to prove otherwise.

Retail demo consoles reset themselves after 10 mins, the game has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's always been that way... I remember a SNES demo kiosk with Super Mario World that did the same thing. Was it hard-coded into the cart? No, the console's just on a timer. It's entirely feasible that the demo discs are juist normal versions of the game, in fact it's more likely than a magically resetting disc.

That said, I still don't believe it until I see it pop up in the usual places.

It isn't the mod that disables the restriction - the 10 min timer is HARDWARE based. All of the demo systems in stores have a 10 min timer built to the reset button. There is also an external reset button so you can manually reset.

The game isnt released, the NTorrent is deleted, The disc we seen doesnt contain the "famous stars" , honestly I can't care less.

I rather wait until a "real" version comes out. And no the modchips do not "hack" the firmware, all it actually do is translating the "pirate" dvdrs as normal discs, plain simple.

linuxares you're wrong about the 360 there. Tons of people with NME chips, probably a higher percentage than people with actual modded firmware on their drive, have been banned. Xbox Live detects the GAME, not the firmware. Also, the NME chip *is* a firmware chip, it does the same thing that flashing your drive does, but lets you choose between original and hacked FW, which is pointless.

Maybe i wasn't clear enough for you. I am one of the people that ripped the game, there are other people in the world you know with different time zones that received the game before i did. I downloaded the game before the day before the party started. I didnt have the real copy until after the party considering i had to work all day. Anyways, your right, the game is for the kiosk, my store kiosk. Since, I'm in charge of it, i took the liberty to "borrow" it for the night. I did it before with metroid, its not a big deal. And every store manager and assistant manager have keys to the store kiosk, nintendo gives us the copy to put in it, they don't do it themselves. At least at my store they don't.

Please..., of course i read the thread. And apparently all you can do to contribute or up your post count is to slag people off for the grammar or prove that you are just as oblivious as we all are as to whether or not someone has the game "in hand" or not. "disc with 10 min. limit. my a$$...:rolleyes: The demo consoles have the limit..not the discs.
Meanwhile, if you look back in the thread, you'll see that the contribution that i made is worthwhile as there are no other pictures (fake, photoshoped, or otherwise) to be found except on the front page.
We are all speculating and excited for the same reason, hence your subscription to this site.
