    Resurssiklunssi v0.3 - Recompress/recompile rco's from any firmware

    Code:
    Resurssiklunssi v0.3 by Z33

This tool will scan through all *.rco files placed inside the rco-folder.

    What it does is:
    - Decompresses ZLIB/2RLZ-compressed headers.
    - Decompresses and recompiles 2RLZ-compressed languagetables.
    - Decompresses 2RLZ-compressed graphic- and modelfiles and recompresses them
      using ZLIB-compression.
    - Compresses found unpacked graphic- and modelfiles using ZLIB-compression.
    - Optionally re-compresses headers and languagetables to save flashspace.

What YOU need to do is:
    - Use 3.xx OE firmware (propably doesn't work with regular 1.50 firmware).
    - Get DECRYPTED and UNCOMPRESSED SYSMEM.PRX from 2.70 or newer firmware and
place it to the rco-folder. Use psardumper/prxdecrypter to obtain that file.
    - Place some rco-files from any firmware version to the rco-folder.
    - Get recompiled files out from the rco/done-folder afterwards.

NOTE: Do not try to customize compressed RCO's! Convert them again with
CROSS/TRIANGLE before customizing, to have the headers/languagetables
          in editable format!
And yes, you run this app with your PSP, so no super puzzle fighter 2 turbo attack moves to be performed on the commandline...

0.3 - Added some errorhandling (also works secretly as an optimizing feature, if you know how to exploit it <HINT>2RLZ-flag</HINT>).

0.2 - *.rco files from 2.60 firmware are now handled correctly. No need to press triangle during launch with the new options. Added option to re-compress headers/languagetables.

0.1b - By keeping TRIANGLE pressed when launching, flash0:/vsh/resource/ is scanned for *.rco files instead of ms0:/rco/

0.1a - Added some more checks for sysmem.prx problems

    0.1 - Initial build

ok i get "Function not found" when trying to use this.

am i right in thinking the sysmem.prx should be in the RCO folder and the RCO folder in on the root of the memorystick.

the rest is in the standard game folder..

my sysmem.prx is 83.3kb is this right ?

New version to prevent some hanging-problems with incorrect sysmem.prx files...

Your sysmem.prx is from firmware version older than 2.60.

And no, you don't save flashspace since these are larger than the original rco-files because of the older compression format, which is needed for customizing as there's no compressor available for the newer format.

    I have correctly made?

    1. Decrypted by means of PRX Decrypter1.3 - SYSMEM.PRX from an firmware 3.30OE-A'.
    2. Then has put ready SYSMEM.PRX in a folder ms0:/RCO/....
    3. Has then put in a folder ms0:/RCO/... the files *.rco
    4. Has started the program "Resurssiklunssi 0.1b" from the menu Game-> MemoryStick
    5. Has received the ready recompiled files *.rco in a folder ms0:/RCO/DONE/...

Then I from an firmware 3.30OE ' used this file SYSMEM.PRX on 3.40OE-A and too all has turned out.
It turns out this ready assemblage it is possible to use on all X.XX OE firmware?

Look, such assemblage will be universal for all OE-firmware?

lol, that was the point the wave no longer fills the full screen, it now a little thumbnail in the center of the screen

btw i only uploaded it for its curiosity value

great tools, any option to compress the rco again?

  13. #13
ok again I grabbed the 2.60 eboot, used the pbp unpacker and extracted the DATA.psar, used psardumper and and grabbed the sysmem.prx...

    ... I get "SYSMEM.PRX needs to be from 2.60+, DECRYPTED & UNPACKED"

im assuming i havent unpacked this file then or as it says 2.60+ i could get it from a newer firmware ?

**EDIT** i grabbed the SYSMEM.PRX from firmware 3.03 works fine now

Ok, after studying stuff a little more it seems sysmem.prx from 2.60 isn't working as the needed feature was added in 2.70, so it has to be from firmware 2.70 or later. As it's not a biggie I'll fix it in the next version.

I'm also going to add header compression option to gain a bit more flashspace when using it to the files since some of the languagetables are quite large.
