The power of an advanced PS2 Mod Chip in a Plug ‘n Play PS2 Memory Card – VAST!!!

120 million PS2/PStwo consoles prepare to become modded via the use of a plug ‘n play advanced custom memory card! A new product is preparing to be launched within the next two weeks which gives PS2/PSTwo owners all the functions of an advanced PS2 mod chip but directly from an advanced memory card. That means no masses of wires to be soldered, no voiding of the warranty, just a simple insertion of a special memory card known as ‘Vast’ which will fully unlock ANY PS2 console just as would a hard wired mod chip would do so. The product essentially exploits a flaw in the PS2 memory card system and uses MagicGate technology which means that the totally innovative design will be 100% secure. When inserted, the following operating system will boot giving any PS2/Two access to a wealth of features. For the time being, enjoy the following screenshots of the OS, we are expecting our insider to leak more information and media to us exclusively at MaxConsole as the launch draws ever closer.

    Sweet as hell.

I'm buying one as long as the price is good.

However, wouldn't it just be possible to copy the contents of the memory card to a normal memory card? Is the device more exploiting through hardware or software?

At least the picture looks to be genuinely made by MC (Zeus): Prsents
If this thing is for real, the price is going to be too high, I'm surprised there's no pre-order on Divineo yet.

Will it work via the memory card adapter for the PS3 for use with PS2 games?

I'd buy if I could do that. I am very doubtful though.

I really have my doubts about this. It just sounds too good to be true. But I am hoping to be reading some good news about 2 weeks from now.

    Yeah, I agree.

Except I think $30 is more likely. The group has to give me a reason to purchase this OVER Swap Magic... and price point is the best reason really.

Would love to get this then stick a massive HD in my ps2 and run stuff off that. Had my ps2 since release here in uk and no probs at all but the lens must be on it last legs and faster load times from HD would be cool.

    That's amazing!
    Unfortunately I already have a mod-chip though.

Is this something new or does this have the same limitations of the Independence exploit? My memory card works as a "mod-chip" but I can't boot backups without using CogSwap.

I'm going to definately be interested if it allows for the booting of backups without the swap.

From the looks of it, it seems this could already be accomplished via the "Independence" exploit that has been known for years. In fact, that's how I use HDLoader, by plugging in the memory card and using ElfLaunch to run it. It seems all this is is a new OS for the memory card exploit. Which is great... but the things listed here can already be done with FOSS.

There are a few issues I would have to see in action before I'm completely sold: (or hear from someone here that it's working)

    1. Ability to launch PS1 games from the hard drive. The current memory card exploit, the PS2 is in "PS2" mode, and cannot access the "PS1" chips in the system.

    2. Faster network capabilities. Currently FTP on the PS2 is limited to like 2 MB/s, when ethernet usually can run 100. I would LOVE to see this fixed so it would faster to transfer games to my hard drive, which takes about 5 hours per game now.

    3. Ability to launch this OS without a "key disc" in. It seems like this may be too much to ask for. With the independence exploit, the "key disc" is a PS1 game. I have a feeling this will be similar.

probably will only work on the old ps2s (v0-v11) because of the mc exploit is accessible there. the mc exploit im talking about is the thing where u use psx disc to run homebrew apps. if u know that, they might be using the same method here. i notice there is vast disc and plug n play memory card- i wonder if thats the psx disc and the memory card containing mr. brown independence exploit. so gay if this is. because he own this code then someone again try to sell his program wo his consent.

but i might be wrong because they say they crack the magicgate protection on mc. i hope this is true that this will act as modchip or else fck ya faker.
